  1. What is Bullying?
    1. Defenition
      1. According to Wikipedia, bullying is abusive treatment, the use of force or coercion to affect others,[2]
        particularly when habitual and involving an imbalance of power. It may involve verbal harassment,
        physical assault or coercion and may be directed persistently towards particular victims, perhaps on grounds of race, religion, gender, sexuality, or ability. The “imbalance of power” may be social power and/or physical power. The victim of bullying is sometimes referred to as a “target.”
    2. Different kinds of bullying1.  Bullying consists of three basic types of abuseemotional, verbal,
      and physical. It typically involves subtle methods of coercion such as intimidation. Bullying can be defined in many different ways.
    3. Who are the bullies?
      1. “bigger kids”
      2. Friends
      3. Family
      4. Teachers

  1. Warning Signs of Bullying
    1. What parents should look for
      1. Physical  symptoms
        1. Stomach aches
        2. Headaches
        3. Crying before class or the night before
        4. Bruising
    2. What parents should do
      1. Communicating with children
        1. Ask open-ended questions casually. How was your day? Did you have fun?
        2. Do not lose temper if child does not want to talk about anything
        3. Do not chase children around the house until they decide to talk
        4. Reassure children that they can always talk when they feel ready
    3. When Bullying takes place
      1. Recess, Afterschool, Lunch
        1. Make sure that the child stays close to the teacher for the time being.
    4. Teacher Help, Administration Help
      1. Make sure the teacher is aware of the situation
      2. If the problem is not isolated, talk to the head of the school
    5. Preventative Measure
      1. Empower Child
        1. CONFIDENCE
        2. Reassurance
        3. Comfort
        4. Eye contact
        5. Loud voice
        6. Chin up
        7. Stand tall
        8. Communicate clearl
    6. What to do if you witness someone being bullied
      1. Be a leader
        1. Stand up for what is right
        2. No one should feel hurt
        3. We are all equal
      2. Tell a teacher
        1. Bullying is not allowed
        2. A REAL friend will not bully you
        3. Don’t be afraid of not being cool or that people won’t like yo
